1) Using a system that can access the net (the one that you used to send your e-mail, for example), go to our home page at USAtek.net and click on the HELP PAGES link at the top. On the page that comes up, click on the apprpriate WINDOWS link in the CONNECTING TO THE INTERNET section at the top. Follow the directions being sure you use the correct username and password for your dial-up account. This will create a program which when run will reset your dialer to the proper configuration.
2) Instead of, or in addition to, the instructions above, go to the MY ACCOUNT link, also on the home page, and log in there. Click on the DIAL-UP link under SET-UP FILES which will create a setup file. Save that file to a floppy and take it to the other computer and run the program there.
First, in a situation like this, dial the modem number using your regular house phone handset to see if you get the same result.
(a) If you hear a modem squeal, then you are having a problem with the modem on your PC. Continue below.
(b) If you get the same voice error, please wait 15 minutes before trying again, then call us to see if we have a resolution timeframe. By then we should have feedback from the telephone company.
It's possible the dialer could have been corrupted. In this particular case, the user got on the net from some other computer. If you can get to our home page click the HELP PAGES link at the top. Pick the operating system that you are using and it will show you how to recreate a new dialer. Follow those steps and see if that helps.
